Tsalapatas Multi-Purpose Venue is located in the entrance to the city of Volos, just a 15 minutes’ walk from the city center. The old N. & S. Tsalapatas Rooftile and Brickworks factory set in a green environment with the old castle at the background was transformed into a multi-purpose venue which focuses on culture and entertainment.
The factory hosted one of the most famed industries of the area, which was known not only in Greece but all across Europe. Nowadays, the buildings and the equipment of the old factory which occupies a range of 22.5 acres are preserved in their original state.
Inside the Tsalapatas Multi-Purpose Venue you can visit the Rooftile and Brickworks Museum N. & S. Tsalapatas, which is part of the Piraeus Bank Group Cultural Foundation Museums Network. In its premises you will be able to see the everyday life in the factory, as well as all the production stages of bricks and tiles. The museum is open daily (except Tuesday) 10.00-17.00 and the admission fee is 3 Euros.
Apart from this unique museum, Tsalapatas Multi-Purpose Venue offers options for those who want to drink beer or wine or even have a meal. It also includes the Lab Art which hosts various events (concerts, plays etc).
