You can easily visit the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes, known as the Aquarium, in the center of Rhodes. It belongs to the National Center for Marine Research and is located on the coast road Ialisos bound, close to the sea and the beach in the Niohori area.
Its construction began in 1934 under the Venetians in the Dodecanese while the research unit dates back to 1937. Since 1963, it has worked as an aquarium-museum as well as a model research unit in the Mediterranean.
You will have the opportunity to see and admire rare species of fish as well as marine fauna in specially designed tanks with sea water in the exhibition rooms.
Among other things, The Aquarium hosts anthozoa, molluscs, crabs, cephalopods, turtles etc and stuffed marine mammals and large fish.
