Ippokratous Square
Ippokratous Square

Ippokratous Square, one of the busiest and much photographed spots in the Medieval Town of Rhodes, is a reference point for both visitors to the island and locals. This is where all the activity is centered in the Old Town.

There is not a day when tourists do not find themselves within the walls and walk through Ippokratous Square at least once, as it is packed with traditional taverns and modern cafes.

Socratous Street, one of the most known streets in the Old Town, leads off from here. It is full of shops selling different items such as jewelry, souvenirs, leather and tourist items.

You will also have the opportunity to admire Kastellania here, a stone building with renaissance elements, which is located right behind the fountain in the center of Ippokratous Square. It is one of the most important medieval buildings as the criminal court of the Knights was housed here,
