Description

Jewish Museum

The Jewish Museum of Rhodes opened in 1997 and is the inspiration of the third generation Rhodian lawyer, Aaron Hason. It is located next to the "Kahal Shalom" Synagogue which can be found on the same site in the Medieval Town.

The purpose behind its creation was to fully inform the local community and visitors to the island about the history of the Jewish community of Rhodes, as well as the value and importance of the unique remaining "Kahal Shalom" Synagogue through photographic records in the old loft space.

Apart from photographs, the museum today exhibits historic material and objects from Rhodes and Rhodians from abroad, as well as donations from people who wish the continue the museum's objective.
