Tilos, rated one of the ten best Greek islands in 2013 by the UK Mirror, is one of the smaller islands in the Dodecanese. It is located between Rhodes and Kos and is 2 hours from Rhodes port.
Endowed with natural beauty, virgin beaches and historic monuments, it is worth devoting a day getting to know this beautiful place. The port of the island is Livadia. Other areas worth visiting are Megalo Horio -the main town on the island- the sandy Eristos beach in Eristos and the small Agios Antonios harbor.
The Museum of the Dwarf Elephants in Megalo Horio, the castle of the Knights above Megalo Horio (from where the view is spectacular), the 15th century Agios Panteleimonas Monastery, the Hardakio caves and the churches of Panagia Theotikissa and Agia Triada are all worth visiting.
