Absinthe is a tavern in Kamares, the island’s port, which emphasizes on Smyrnaean cuisine with touches inspired from Central Asia offering stunning views of the bay of Kamares.

All the dishes are prepared daily with selected raw ingredients mainly from local producers. The constant values of the menu include the hungiar beyendi (tender casserole beef with eggplant puree), curry chicken with fresh mango, ginger, chili peppers and coconut cream served with basmati rice, Smyrnaean meatballs and lahmatzun (spicy minced meat with yoghurt on pita bread).
