The picturesque fishing village Cheronisos is located in the northern part of the island and 15 km from Apollonia. Tiny and quiet, it is an ideal choice for all those of you who are looking for peaceful holidays with a beautiful natural setting as a background.
Cheronisos was formerly the reference point for pottery on the island, a tradition that lasts many years in Sifnos, and owes its name to the combination of the words “chersos” (uncultivated, rough) and “nisos” (island).
The sheltered cove of the village embraces the eponymous beach with the crystal clear water, where you will find two taverns. Generally, your options in Cheronisos are not plenty (some rooms to let, a small grocery and a traditional pottery workshop), however the peace and tranquillity provided to its visitors is enough to make it their favourite spot on the island.
