The paths of Sifnos (other paved with stone or marble and other just dirt), which were created primarily to facilitate agricultural and livestock life, form a network of approximately 200 km with the oldest paths dating from the third millennium BC.

Today, they are not used for the same purpose, and most of them lead visitors through a beautiful natural landscape to churches, monasteries, monuments, beaches of Sifnos, and so on, providing an ideal opportunity to explore the island on foot. The best time to indulge in hiking on the island is spring and autumn, as the weather favours such an activity.
