Citizens of the European Union (as well as Norway, Iceland, Switzerland and Lichtenstein) traveling to Spetses and Greece in general are entitled to free public health care on production of a European Health Card.Otherwise, any care needed, apart from visits to the emergency room, has to be paid for.

For those traveling to Spetses from countries outside the Euro zone and who have run out of local currency, make sure you exchange your money into Euros before coming to Spetses as there are no currency exchange provisions on the island.

Tipping

A service charge is included in restaurant bills when you dine and bar bills for drinks. However, it is customary to leave a 10% tip on the total of the bill, if you are happy with the overall experience.
