1 day in Thessaloniki for singles
The day begins in the morning with a visit to the city's landmark, the White Tower at the end of Nikis Avenue. Walk up to Navarinou pedestrain Street to reach the Arch of Galerius (known also as Kamara) and the Rotunda just behind it. As you head downtown, take a break on Iktinou and Zefxidos pedestrian streets and enjoy coffee alongside the young crowd that has made it a 'hip spot'. A favorite haunt here is Pasta Flora Darling. The specialty here is none other than homemade pasta flora (fruit tart).
Continue with a shopping spree along the central Tsimiski, Mitropoleos and Proxenou Koromila streets. A visit to the Cinema Museum in the port warehouses can prove quite interesting! At lunch time head to Ladadika for a real feast in one of the taverns with their delicious treats or choose Fri to sample authentic cuisine from the island of Kasos. In the afternoon, after a coffee break in Aristotelous Square or on Nikis Avenue, take a stroll in Nea Paralia, along the shore of the Thermaikos and wander amid the various theme parks.
After sunset, follow in the footsteps of the locals to experience Thessaloniki's unique nightlife. Make a stop at Athonos Square or Bit Pazar to sample some mezes accompanied by good wine and then set course for the countless bars on the famous Valaoritou Street that will keep you up all night long. If you like delicious cocktails head for Elvis, but if you are looking for a place with a well-stocked cellar of sophisticated tequilas you should go to La Doze.
