In the Oraiokatstro area, about a 30-minute car ride for the centre of Thessaloniki, the Dinosaur Park and the Mammoth Museum opened in 2008, and are one of the most interesting places to take your little friends for the day.

In an 4000 m² area you will have the chance to see replicas and fossils thousands of years old, in the biggest real-size dinosaur exhibition in Europe. There is also a lake and waterfalls in the surroundings.

Apart from the Dinosaur Park, in the total area of 30000 m² you will come across the Cave of Evolution –replica of a real cave where the evolution of the human kind is presented with collections of tools, fossils and cave paintings–, The Mammoth Museum –the first attempt of its kind in the country where you will see real mammoth fossils dating back to the Ice Age, collections of rocks and sea fossils from the Sahara desert– and the Mammals Park –where you will have the chance to see mammals of the past as well as contemporary in real size.

Make sure you also visit the Greek Traditional Toys Museum, with 300 constructions from ancient times up to today, as well as the theme parks Archaeological farm and Greek & World Mythology and its relation to paleontology.
