The first vegetarian (and vegan) restaurant in Thessaloniki is a fact. rOOTS has arrived to satisfy the vegetarians in the best way possible.
This "green" tasty hangout, which entered the city map in August 2014, is at a stone’s throw from Athonos Square and is open from early in the morning for coffee.
In its menu you will find tasty suggestions with one of its best sellers being the mushroom risotto (3 kinds of mushroom, truffle oil, parmesan), and if someone is vegan, the parmesan can be replaced with avocado. This is the case with almost every dish here. Other exciting proposals include the handmade falafel in tortillas and the organic soya kebab marinated with spices in pitta, with a vegan handmade mayonnaise, mustard and tomato.
Green chef Nikos Gaitanos, well known for his creations in Rosebud in Athens, has curated the menu, which is enough to give you a first taste of what you will enjoy here.
