On an island with fertile soil, massive vineyards and favourable climate it is not surprising to find good wine. On Zakynthos there is a remarkable production of wine of different varieties (more than 60) of excellent quality –some are local– standing out for the flavour, colour and aroma.

Among the varieties, the fruity multi-variety Verdea wine produced since 1800 on the island stands out, as well as Mavri Rombola, Avgoustiatis, Stafidostafilo and Kataskoulias, all red wines and Goustolidi, Pavlos and Skiadopoulo, all white wines.

Each family produces their own wine either the old-fashion way or with the aid of modern methods, always with respect to tradition and quality.
